This approval is recorded with your name, role, timestamp, and the validation method. It appears in the audit trail for each approved record. You remain personally accountable for components approved under your name.

↑ CSV Import — Bulk Approvals

Import a spreadsheet of approval decisions. Each row is one component or metric. Required for bulk sign-offs prepared outside Tessera — e.g. an offline Controller review.

Required CSV columns
record_id — Tessera internal ID (TESS-COMP-XXXX or TESS-MET-XXXX)
record_type — component or metric
ties_out — true or false
approved_by_name — full name of the responsible party
approved_by_role — Controller / CFO / Finance Manager / other
discrepancy_note — required if ties_out = false (min 5 chars)
domain — optional; used to validate record belongs to expected domain
If ties_out = false and discrepancy_note is missing or under 5 characters, that row is rejected and listed in the import error report. All other rows process normally.
Tessera will validate the file, show a preview of what will be approved and any errors, and require a final confirmation before committing. No records are changed until you confirm.

Move to Domain

Moving records to a different domain transfers governance responsibility to that domain's owner. Affected metrics will require re-approval from the new domain owner.

After creating the fork, the Wizard component editor opens so you can adjust account ranges, filters, and transaction types. Domain owner sign-off is required before the fork is active in the catalog.

Set Sensitivity

Controls which roles can see metrics in portlets and the catalog. Applies to all selected records.

Standard
Visible to all Tessera roles and any NS user with portlet access. Default for most metrics.
🔒 Restricted
Visible only to Tessera Administrator, Controller, and Domain Owner roles. Portlet is hidden from standard NS users. Use for sensitive financials — AR aging detail, compensation metrics, M&A-related figures.
Changing sensitivity does not require re-approval of the metric definition — it is a display control, not a governance change. The change is logged in the audit trail.

↑ Import New Records from CSV

Bulk-create custom Query Components from a spreadsheet. Records are created as Draft, unvalidated. Account config validation runs automatically after import. Domain owner is notified to review.

Required CSV columns
name — display name for the component
description — plain-English definition
gl_category — income_statement | balance_asset | balance_liability | balance_equity | cash_flow | custom
accounts — comma-separated GL account IDs or numbers (e.g. 4000,4010,4020)
template — T2 | T3 | T4 | raw_suiteql
negate — true or false (flip sign convention)
domain — exact domain name (must match an existing Approval Domain)
transaction_types — comma-separated (e.g. invoice,creditMemo); defaults to all posting types
sensitivity — Standard (default) or Restricted
notes — free-form notes shown in the detail drawer
⚠ Records created by CSV import are always: Draft status · Custom (not Baseline) · Unvalidated · Unapproved. They follow the same validation and domain owner sign-off workflow as any custom component. No records go live without approval.
Tessera validates the file — checks account IDs exist in your COA, domain names match, required columns are present — shows a preview with any errors, and requires confirmation before creating records. Nothing is created until you confirm.
